Abstract
Introduction:
The unmet need for contraception results in unwanted pregnancies. Unprescribed procurement of abortifacients and unsupervised procedures lead to unsafe abortions adding significantly to pregnancy-related morbidity and mortality.
Case Series:
We present three instances of the practice of unsafe abortions leading to adverse outcomes.
Results:
One patient had an abortifacient overdose with severe enteritis. One patient had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy after consumption of abortifacient and emergency exploratory laparotomy. The third patient had a septic abortion, and septic shock and could not be revived.

Key words: Contraception, unsafe abortion, hospitalization, septic shock
