Laparoscopic cholecystectomy with bile duct exploration during Covid 19 pandemic

Abstract
The incidence of gallstones varies from 6%-10% in the adult population. Three percent to 14.7% of patients with gallstones have concurrent common bile duct stones as well. The current treatment of common bile duct stones remains controversial with the debate between endoscopic cholangiopancreatography and common bile duct exploration.
This is a 27-year-old female with 5 days of evolution of abdominal pain, the patient with cholelithiasis has already been known, the patient with jaundiced conjunctiva, total bilirubin 4.2, and direct bilirubin 3.8, a test for covid 19 with polymerase chain reaction is performed, resulting in this positive. The patient goes under surgery with the corresponding protective equipment for covid 19, where a cholecystectomy with laparoscopic bile duct exploration is performed without incidents, the patient is discharged 24 hours after surgery, with a total bilirubin of 1, direct bilirubin of 0.5, without clinical data of covid 19, discharge with alarm data for covid 19.
