A Case of Seorang Myastenia Gravis and Thrombocytopenia Associated with Thymoma Type A

Abstract
The Association of thymoma with myasthenia gravis is well documented. However, thymoma complicated by thrombocytopenia is rarely reported. We report the case of a 59-year-old man who was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis and consulted by thrombocytopenia and an anterior mediastinal tumour was detected. The diagnosis was thymoma with myasthenia gravis and thrombocytopenia. The patient didn’t receive immunosuppressive therapy but supportive therapy for preparing thymectomy. Unfortunately, the patient didn’t undergo a bone marrow biopsy. Thymectomy was performed, and there was the tumour invading the left lung and the diagnosis was invasive thymoma, Masaoka-Koga stage III. The histological diagnosis was World Health Organization type A. Based on our case, there were findings concerning the improvement of not only the myasthenia gravis but also hematologic disorders.
