Cerebral hemiatrophy associated with Chronic Subdural Hematoma- Rare Cadaveric Observations

Kumar Sambhav, Prabhjot Singh, Renu Gupta, Ashish Kumar Nayyar, Surajit Ghatak.

Abstract
Cerebral hemiatrophy is an infrequent neuroimaging observation of varied etiologies, classified into two wide categories: congenital and acquired. Chronic subdural hematoma is hypothesised to be associated with the aetiology of brain atrophy. We present a case of an 85-year-old female with history of seizures, right hemiplegia and behavioural changes. Gross left cerebral hemiatrophy with evidence of associated chronic subdural hematoma, anatomical bony and brain parenchymal changes were observed during routine dissection of the brain.

Key words: Cerebral hemiatrophy, brain atrophy, chronic subdural hematoma
