Outcome of jones procedure in management of involutional entropion

Abstract
Objective:
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Jones procedure in the management of senile
involutional entropion
Materials and Methods:
From March 2020 to December 2021 ,a prospective observational study was conducted in the department of ophthalmology at VSSIMSAR, Burla, Odisha.The study included 25 eyes from 19 individuals aged 65 to 85 who had involutional entropion and underwent the Jones procedure. Patients with cicatricial, spastic or congenital entropion as well as those who had previous lid surgery were excluded.
Results:
A total of 25 eyes of 19 patients were evaluated and taken up for Jones procedure. They were followed up at one week, 4 weeks, 6 months duration. Out of the total 25 eyes, failure was seen in only one case(4%), two were undercorrected (8%) and 22 were successful(88%).
Conclusion:
Jones procedure is an easy, efficacious, aesthetically acceptable and successful procedure for involutional entropion.
